Dr Shiv has never feared questioning the mighty and powerful. Through his article titled ‘GA GANESH KA SAMPRADAYIK AUR GA GADHE KA DHARMANIRPEKSH’. Dr Shiv has boldly put forth questions about those who wear the mask of secularism; through the article ‘Arundhati Roy se Asahmati ki Vajah’, he has exposed the real face of those who try to brighten their position in politics by putting obstacles in the path of development.
With over two decades of past history in leading media houses, he specializes in political system of India, Indian Constitution, current affairs and the social issues of the country. Dr Shiv regularly writes commentaries on issues of national interest in leading publications. He had a humble beginning in the print media, where he worked for industry leader such as ‘Nava Bharat’ and ‘Dainik Jagran’. He then switched over to take on the challenge of electronic media and worked with ‘Zee News’ by anchoring daily news shows, and went on to work with news channels like ‘Aaj Tak’ and ‘Doordarshan’. Besides anchoring, Dr Shiv has also produced a variety of current affairs programmes for various prominent television news channels. Dr Shiv also gave back to society by starting MERI JAATI BHARTIYA, Indian by caste campaign to promote national unity.
Dr. Shiv Kumar Rai holds a MA in Sociology, PGD in Journalism & Mass Communication and a PhD in Social Sciences. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce. Dr Shiv’s research on Suicide is engaged with sociological reasons of SUICIDE. It was a first sociological study in Madhya Pradesh on Suicide. During PhD he worked in the Indian Institute of Advance Studies (IIAS) Shimla for research work.
